Scott's Baptism and Dancing on the Washington Mall

Hey there!
This week has been super tough, and to be honest, I've just kind of gone through the motions. There are a couple days that I don't even remember because I was in my head too much. But let's see what I do remember!

SCOTT WAS BAPTIZED ON SUNDAY! It was a simple ceremony to which 1/2 the Bowie Ward showed up to! This ward is so good at fellowshipping people into the ward! And they LOVE Scott. I'm not worried about him at all! He's cool

Cheryl finally has a b-date for April 28th. She's making progress (finally) so we're pretty excited :) I love her. She's a little rough around the edges, but she's really just a big softy on the inside. Stubborn as a bull, she is. But we love her :)

Vanessa moved out of our ward boundaries so we can't teach her anymore. Sad day!
We are working with a few less active and part member families that are cool. The family with the most promise Jason and Mandy! They're so cute! She's preggo with her 4th child. Jason is a less active member with the coolest conversion story ever (or at least one of the coolest I've heard), and Mandy isn't a member... yet. Sister Gros and I think she is just going to eat the gospel up! Especially the Plan of Salvation :) Jason was talking about how he really wants his family to be sealed in the temple, and how he has no excuse for not coming to church every Sunday :) They're so awesome! And prepared!

But that's about all for the area report, haha. I'm sorry this is short and kinda lame. But I just want to leave my testimony that Heavenly Father loves us, and He takes care of us. I know that our Savior suffered every pain, every sorrow, every burden that we have felt, are feeling or will feel. We don't have to go through this life and it's trials alone. Turn to Heavenly Father, and to Jesus Christ. Let them help you. They love you and know you by name. I mean really, Heavenly Father is all powerful. He has no limitations! So why not let the Being with no limits help you? Right? Go read 1 Nephi 7:12.
 1 Nephi 7:12
12 Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all athings according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise bfaith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him.

I love you all :) Thank you so much for everything! And hopefully next week I'll have more for you!
Love, Sister Bullock

Sister Bullock's letter March 6, 2013

Sister Bullock on Kelsey Street!
Hello everyone!
Bowie is great! Aaaaand now it's cold, snowy and rainy. Just when we thought spring had arrived, we got hit with a winter storm, haha. Oh well, such is life. The work is still great and I'm loving every moment of it! SCOTT IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SUNDAY!!! We're susper excited for him! And anytime you mention his baptism, his face lights up like he's a dog with a ball! It's so funny! And so proud of him :) I'll send pictures next week! I also got a letter from Michael (my recent convert in White Oak) telling me that he received the priesthood a couple of weeks ago! I'm so proud of him :) It's a big step!
Vanessa, Rebecca and Cheryl are all doing well :) Rachman is going to be good too when we have an actual lesson with him, haha. we also started teaching a lady named Joanie. She's cool! She used to be a nun, so conversations with her are great. We also got a referral last night, and when we talked to her, she said "I just want to be a member of your church. I don't need anything else." Cool, huh?
I'm learning alot and having a lot of fun while doing it :) Yesterday, I had to tell my zone why the Atonement is so meaningful to me. This has been something I have not been able to put into words. Ever. But I realized that because of the Atonement, I know I have worth. I have value. I can be confident. I can be bold. I can have friends. I can be happy. I can let myself be comforted by the Holy Ghost. Without my Savior, I wouldn't know any of these things. I wouldn't have them. Christ literally saved my life and my soul. I'm eternally grateful to Him. I'm here in Bowie, MD to tell everyone here about this wonderful gift that has been given to us. That we don't have to suffer, or bare our burdens alone. Christ has already taken that upon himself. Right now is a really big trial of my faith. There are somethings that are really hard for me to deal with while I'm so far away, but I know that I can turn to Christ, and my burdens will be made light. I don't have to do it alone.
Please turn to your Father in Heaven in prayer. He will comfort and guide you. He will hold you up and keep you going. Over and over in the scriptures we read, "Fear not". We have no need to fear when we have God on our side.
I love you all and I miss you dearly. Thank you for everything you do for me!
All my love,
Sister Bullock

Letter from Feb 27, 2013

I LOVE BOWIE! (Pronounced "Boo-ee")
Seriously! I love this area so much! Hopefully Sister Gros and I stay here for a loooong time :) I love the members, the people, and the work! We have seen so many miracles in this area... And it's only been a couple of weeks! It's so great, and I love seeing how the Lord truly has a hand in His work! Scott is progressing wonderfully! He is so ready to be baptized next Sunday (March 10th)! After church this past Sunday, he told us that he loves Sacrament Meeting so much and that he really wants to speak in church! Who actually wants to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting?? He is truly prepared by the Lord :) He's funny, too! He'll often replying to our texts in French, haha. Sister Gros laughs every time he does! It's so funny!
We also have another investigator on date to be bapatized! Her name is Vanessa! She's married to a less-active member, and has twin girls :) (They're adorable!) We had a really strong and powerful lesson about the restoration, and she committed to baptism right then! It was so neat :) It's amazing how the Spirit covers up for our flaws, by the way. She'll be baptized March 24th!

Sister Gros and I are getting along great! I seriously love this Sister! She has an amazing spirit about her and she is so faithful and dedicated to the work! She is one of my very favorite companions :) Oh, and she's from the very north of France (very close to Belgium). She explains it as France being a body, and she's in the brain. (I hope that answers your question, Dad)

This week, Sister Gros and I have made the goal to act on every single prompting we receive throughout the day. And as we've done this, we've been truly blessed! One example is how we were protected from a car accident that happened right behind us! Another would be finding a new golden investigator (his name is Rachman. He's pretty awesome). Some promptings we receive, we don't see the results of us acting upon them, but I know that there is a reason for them, and that we are (or will be) blessed for our efforts.
I know Heavenly Father loves us, all of us. I know He knows each one of us by name. He knows our hearts, our thoughts, our desires, our goals. Everything. turn to Him in everything you do or that you are going through; He will help you! Mosiah 5:15

Mosiah 5:15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in agood works, that Christ, the bLord God Omnipotent, may cseal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who dcreated all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.
I love you all so much! Thank you again for all the support :)
